New Garmin Wearable Devices Makes Arch Counters Archaic Empty New Garmin Wearable Devices Makes Arch Counters Archaic

You had your usual fitness tracker ... and then the Garmin Forerunner 945 appeared. With its long list of features and delicate, beautiful design, this thing is absolutely stunning. Forerunner 945 looks great on paper, but how do these elements translate into real productivity? We checked running smart watches to find out.

LARGE BUT RELATIVELY THIN DESIGN
Garmin Forerunner 945 has a greater set of features than its predecessor, the Forerunner 935, but retains the same compact form.

What is impressive is that Garmin managed to squeeze so many sensors into the thin body of the Forerunner 945. There is an optical heart rate sensor, a barometric altimeter, a pulse oximeter, a compass, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, and a thermometer - all this in a 13.7 watch case mm
With 47 mm, the Forerunner 945 looks great on a small wrist, but it is not too big (50 g) due to its body reinforced with polymer fiber.

And wear them comfortably around the clock. The clock has five buttons: three on the left and two on the right. The buttons stand out so that they are easy to press, but they do not interfere with bending the wrist. The start / pause / stop button extends a little further than other buttons, which allows you to press it even when she is hiding in a light jacket or a long-sleeved shirt.

22-mm silicone strap is perforated, which allows you to wear it even during intensive training. It is adjustable for different sizes of wrists and has a secure fit. But in some situations it is almost too safe - so much so that it will be difficult for you to take off the watch.

If you prefer something other than a regular silicone strap, you can easily replace it with a quick-release strap.

The Forerunner 945 is equipped with a permanently on 1.2-inch display that is easy to read in daylight - perfect for outdoor use. It has not the highest resolution, only 240 x 240 pixels, but it is more than enough to read the contents on the screen. There is a custom dial to customize the look to your liking, and the same goes for widget screens and data display. The lens material covering the display is Corning Gorilla Glass DX, which is resistant to scratches and low glare. You can run a single route http://www.rafiqsonsonline.com/product-category/omax-watches/ and at the same time they will be like new ones.

MORE INDICATORS THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE
With the Garmin Forerunner 945 you can do a lot, which means that the performance of watches should not hold you back. This is a multisports watch that supports over 30 different indoor and outdoor sports, including jogging, open water swimming, weight training, skiing, and more. If your sport is not listed, you can create a custom record that will track your chosen performance.

You can safely run over 40 miles with the Forerunner 945, and it will record all the indicators needed for performance analysis, and then some others. During operation, there are six data screens with data fields that you can customize. Do not see the indicators that you need? You can add it using the Garmin Connect IQ application repository. These data screens refer to specific exercises, so you can add a map data screen for the treadmill and a heart rate screen for interval running.

Centre

Garmin has set up hardware and metrics on the Forerunner 945 to make the already excellent Forerunner 935 fitness tracker even better. Forerunner 945 is equipped with the latest Elevate v3 heart rate sensor from Garmin and a pulse oximeter, which is used mainly for acclimatization at altitude. Acclimatization does not apply to those who live and train at sea level, but have the advantage if you start training immediately at the highest altitude.

Forerunner 945 may be for a serious athlete in training, but it not only shows improved fitness performance.

The heart rate sensor measures your performance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that you can monitor your heart rate at rest and use this data to find out if you have overtrained or not. During exercise, the heart rate monitor is activated, so it can capture small changes in heart rate during exercise.

Optical heart rate monitors are usually not as accurate as chest belts, but our testing with the Polar H10 chest belt revealed that Garmin is closing the gap.
Forerunner 945 shows all the major indicators, such as distance and pace, but this is only the beginning. Garmin expands functionality with features such as Climb Pro, which highlights steep climbs on the track, and Training Load Focus, which breaks the load on training into categories.

In Forerunner 945, a new acclimatization function for height and heat is very much appreciated, which takes into account temperature and height when analyzing your characteristics. It's a good news! Your performance indicators, such as oxygen saturation (VO2 max), will be useless when you rise above 2788 feet or train at temperatures above 71 ° F.

TRACKING LEVEL OF TRAINING AND HEALTH INDICATORS
Forerunner 945 can be for a serious athlete in training, but this does not mean that he has only improved health indicators. Getting the best performance is more than just an improvement in frequency and pace, so the Forerunner 945 also tracks your sleep, tracks stress and more.

Like most modern fitness trackers, Forerunner 945 provides advanced sleep cycle analysis, breaking your sleep into light, deep, fast, and waking states. Sleep tracking is accurate and constantly detected. In this case, you will never have problems with wearing hours at night. They hold firmly to the wrist.

The Forerunner 945 has more than just sleep tracking. You can also turn on a pulse oximeter to measure oxygen levels at night. This is a fantastic marketing question, but it seemed to us that this indicator is difficult to interpret. Judging by the indicators, nightly SpO2 sometimes fell below 90 percent, and we are not sure why. Is this a concern or an expected value? The clock provided only raw numbers and no context for what these meanings mean.

Garmin Forerunner 945 has built-in color topographic maps that show elevation data showing peaks, streets, and points of interest.
During the day, the heart rate monitor tracks heart rate variability and uses data to determine when stress levels increase. The watch does not have a convenient guide, such as the Garmin Vivosmart or the Apple Watch, but you can take steps to minimize stress when your level gets too high.

Forerunner also uses heart rate, sleep, and exercise data to calculate your reserve energy you have accumulated during the day. This feature debuted at Vivosmart 4 and should probably remain on these entry-level devices. Although it is sometimes useful to know your energy supply, this indicator is lost in all other dimensions of performance monitored by the Forerunner 945. The Model 945 is intended for serious athletes who prefer to track the load state and recovery time instead of determining the energy reserve.

TRACKING IS DONE USING MAPS
Garmin Forerunner 945 has built-in color topographic maps that show elevation data showing peaks, streets, and points of interest. You can access these pre-workout maps to find a popular place to run. They are also available during training so you can see where you went, save the place you want to remember, and use the TracBack tracking function to return to the original location. At the end of the workout, you can upload your route with GPS reference and view it on the map.

Navigation requires the use of buttons on the clock to pan and zoom the map. However, we found out that maps were most useful when tracking routes — we were able to explore side trails that weren’t marked, and even ran along several untrodden trails that were worth seeing. Knowing that you can use the navigation feature to find your way back will give you a certain peace of mind.

OTHER SOFTWARE FEATURES
Forerunner 945 is more than just a fitness watch. It is also a smart watch that connects to the phone and can receive notifications. You can configure which notifications are sent to the clock and the device will vibrate to alert you. The text is very readable, but you can only see the beginning of any message or email. Each warning takes a display for about a minute and then disappears.

You can find all your alerts in the notification widget where you can scroll and delete each one. When they are cleared on the clock, they are also deleted from your mobile phone. In addition to notifications, interaction with the phone is limited. On Android, you can respond to notifications using pre-installed messages, but on iOS, you cannot. You also cannot make / receive phone calls or activate virtual assistants like Siri.

LISTENING TO MUSIC
Forerunner 945 frees you from your phone with the ability to add up to 1000 music files to your watch. You can use the Garmin Express desktop app for your PC to move music files or launch the pre-installed Spotify or Deezer applications. The process of adding music to a watch is not as simple as it might seem, but the steps are described in detail in the online manual. The Forerunner 945 doesn’t have a speaker, so you’ll need a Bluetooth headset or in-ear headset. Fortunately, you only need to plug in your headphones or earphones once, and the watch will prompt you to connect each time you open the music controls.

BATTERY
Garmin not only stuffed the device with sensors and software to monitor almost all aspects of your activity, but did so without sacrificing battery life. Forerunner 945 boasts up to 2 weeks of battery life in smart watch mode e.g fossil http://www.rafiqsonsonline.com/product-category/fossil/ up to 36 hours in GPS mode and up to 10 hours in GPS mode with music. We had hours more than a week, we ran over 40 miles with them (without music) and charged them only once during that time.

PRICE, AVAILABILITY AND WARRANTY INFORMATION
The Garmin Forerunner 945 costs $ 600 and is available for purchase on the Garmin website by reservation.
Garmin offers a standard one-year warranty from the original date of purchase and covers manufacturer’s defects.

Forerunner 945 has everything you need to track activity and user training indicators. From sleep to speed, smart watches measure all of this and share this data with Garmin Connect, where you can analyze your statistics according to your preferences. If you are serious about your workouts - we are talking about you, triathletes and ultra-runners - and you want to take them to a new level, the Forerunner 945 is the fitness watch for you.
